Davis Public Relations and Marketing received three awards during the South Carolina Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America’s (SCPRSA) annual Mercury Awards banquet held May 3 in Columbia.
Each year, SCPRSA recognizes excellent public relations programs, campaigns, publications, print materials and individual achievements in communications. Mercury Awards recognize campaigns while Silver Wing Awards recognize tactics. The competition is open to anyone in the communications field inSouth Carolina. This year, the Roanoke, Virginia chapter of PRSA judged the entries submitted by South Carolina public relations practitioners.
All three of Davis Public Relations’ awards this year were for the “Talk About Giving” campaign conducted for Central Carolina Community Foundation. The agency was recognized with the Mercury Award of Merit for Public Service, the Silver Wing Award for Media Relations (Associations/Government/Nonprofits) and the Silver Wing Award for Editorials and Op-Ed Columns.
Talk About Giving is a long-term initiative of Central Carolina Community Foundation designed for families who want to pass along to their children a healthy understanding of the importance of giving. Through ongoing conversation and active participation in giving, children recognize philanthropy as a part of their family’s value system. Studies show children of parents who give are much more likely to continue giving as adults.
Davis Public Relations and Marketing is a full service, independent communications firm that was established by Kelly Davis, APR in 2004. Since its founding, the agency has received more than two dozen awards for outstanding public relations campaigns and tactics, including the 2006, 2009 and 2010 SCPRSA Best in Show awards.
